The ICAR-IIHR participated in the exhibition the during Xth Indian Horticulture Congress- 2023 held at Guwahathi from 6th to 9th November, 2023. The ICAR-IIHR showcased its farmer friendly technologies with live specimens of high yielding varieties of fruits, vegetables and ornamental crops and post-harvest technologies. The technologies of IIHR supported by ATIC were displayed through posters, live specimens and literature etc. for the benefit of the SCSP, TSP and NEH beneficiaries. Several delegates, bureaucrats, policy makers, progressive farmers, entrepreneurs and students visited the stall and expressed great interest and appreciation towards the technologies. The ICAR-IIHR stall served as a link between farmers and the farming industry and provided information to visitors about the latest horticulture technologies. This programme was coordinated by Dr. R. Senthil Kumar, Dr V. Sankar and Dr. T. Sakthivel Principal Scientists and Nodal officers of SCSP, TSP & NEH, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Capacity building and input distribution was organized by ICAR-IIHR in collaboration with Assam Agricultural University and ATARI, Guwahathi on 9.11.2023 at Guwahathi as part of SCSP, TSP and NEH programmes. More than 350 farmers participated along with other state departments officials and KVK officials. An interactive session was chaired by Dr. Bidyut Deka, Vice chancellor and Dr. S. K. Singh, Director ICAR-IIHR was the Co-Chairman of the session. Farmers queries were answered by the concerned experts. At the end of the programme ICAR-IIHR Input kits were distributed to all the beneficiaries
