ICAR-IIHR organized Capacity Building and Input Distribution Programme as a way forward to achieve Sustainable Development Goals in collaboration with Rathindra KVK, Visva Bharathi, Sriniketan, West Bengal on 23rd November2023.
Dr. Subrata Mandal, Head, Rathindra KVK, Sriniketan, Birbhum district of West Bengal welcomed the gathering and Dr. R. Senthil kumar, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer (SCSP) briefed about SCSP programmes in serving the farming community and to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. He also delivered a lecture on ICAR-IIHR technologies suitable for that region. Dr. H.P. Sumangala explained about the ICAR-IIHR flower crop technologies finally Dr. Mandal, Department of Horticulture, Viswa Bharathi delivered a talk on significance of IIHR technologies.
The inputs such as velvet bean seeds, vegetable crop technologies (Tomato, Chillies, Onion, Radish and Cluster bean) were distributed to all the SCSP and TSP beneficiaries. The programme ended with concluding remarks and vote of thanks Extension scientist of KVK. The entire programme was coordinated by Dr. R. Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer (SCSP) and Dr H.P. Sumangala, Principal Scientist, Division of Flower and Medicinal crops, ICAR-IIHR. Around 50 SC and 50 ST farmers were benefitted by this programme.
