Training cum exposure visit for tribal farmers of Odisha under MIDH conducted by ICAR-IIHR at CHES, Bhuvaneshwar during 20th to 24th January 2025

The ICAR-IIHR conducted training cum exposure visit for tribal farmers of Odisha under MIDH at CHES, Bhuvaneswar, Odisha during 20th to 24th January 2025. On 20.01.2025, the programme was inaugurated by Dr T K Behera, Director of Indian institute of Horticuluture Research, Bengaluru. In this training cum exposure visit Programme ICAR-IIHR has put up stall along with other dignitaries during the fair. During the 5-day event, ICAR-IIHR put up stall to show case the horticulture technologies suitable for the Eastern region of India and conducted capacity building programmes in all the five days. At the end of the  programme vegetable seed pockets and seeds of Arka Shubra of velvet bean, Arka Rakshak of tomoto, Arka Meghana of chilli, Arka Vikram of ridges gourd and Amaranthus and mango planting materials were distributed to the beneficiaries of seven different districts ( Gajapati, Koraput, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Nabarangpur, Puri, Kendrapara) of Bhuvaneswar, Odisha. More than 250 farmers were participated in this five days training programme. This programme was coordinated by Dr H P Sumangala, Principal Scientist, Division of Flower & Medicinal Crops, Dr R Senthil Kumar, Principal Scientist, Division of Social Sciences & Training and Dr V Sankar, Principal Scientist, Division of Social Sciences & Training IIHR, Bengaluru.
