An entrepreneurial training program on Mushroom spawn production and Mushroom cultivation was organized by Division of Crop Protection from 06th to 08thSeptember2023 and 11th to 15th September 2023, respectively. About 42 trainees from different states viz., Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Puducherry had participated in the programme. The group included 11 women entrepreneurs. There was a great diversity in educational qualifications of trainees ranging from Matriculation, intermediate, graduates to post graduates. The group was given advanced end to end Hands on training on various aspects of Mushrooms such as spawn production, cultivation, processing and value addition, mechanization and energy management in mushroom farms, ancillary activities associated with mushroom industry and utilization of mushroom technology as a social enterprise.
