Central Horticultural Experiment Station, ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bhubaneswar organized a sensitization workshop on “Enhancement of production of chilli landraces of Odisha” on 14th September 2023. The one-day programme was organized under the MIDH-funded project on “Technological interventions to boost productivity and quality of important chilli landraces of Odisha” operating at this station. During the programme, the farmers were sensitized about Good Agricultural Practices, major commercial varieties, management of major diseases/pests etc. Around 30 chilli growers from Dhenkanal, Kendrapada and Sambalpur districts attended the programme. Dr P Srinivas, Principal Scientist, CHES-IIHR; Dr (Mrs) Uma Maheshwari, Principal Scientist, IIHR; Dr P. Naresh, Sr. Scientist, IIHR; Dr. Gobinda Acharya, Head and Principal Scientist, CHES-IIHR acted as resource persons of the programme. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr G C Acharya, PI and Dr P Naresh, CO-PI and Sri Manoj Pattanaik, TO with assistance from Sri Anil Adamala, YP-II, Sri Ashish Chakrbarty and Lisalin Rout working under different projects.
