A series of programmes were planned and executed from 16-18th July 2023 as part of celebration of 95th ICAR Foundation Day and Technology Day at ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu District. On the first day, ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu in collaboration with ICAR-IIHR-CHES, Chettalli conducted a capacity development programme on diversification of coffee estate with butter fruit planting followed by an exhibition of latest technologies and products of KVK Kodagu and CHES Chettalli. Later, the avocado planting material was distributed to the sixty-seven participants.
On the second day ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu, in collaboration with Technology Evaluation Center, Coffee board South Coorg, conducted a capacity development programme on mitigation of heterogeneity in Robusta coffee through clonal propagation. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Sridevi, Deputy Director Extension, Coffee Board. Also a special talk and method demonstration of clonal propagation in coffee was arranged by Dr. Chetan, Plant breeder, Coffee Board. A total of fifty-two farmers participated in the programme.
On the third day, an exhibition in collaboration with ICAR IISR-RS-Appangala was arranged, depicting various spice crops, latest technologies of coffee board, followed by certificate distribution to the trainees of Garden keeper under ASCI Skill Development programme.
